This is an image of a Rajasthani village woman. Rajasthan is one of the areas of India with a particularly grim reputation regarding the situation of women. I'm posting images of Indian women in memory of the young medical student who died from rape injuries.

@Learning Soul: Thanks Bidisha, and kind regards to you in return. An activist friend in Goa has been passing on info about other recent tragedies that have not received as much press. One has the feeling that the story of the Dehli student has had a quite some impact.
